Paulo brings over 15 years experience as a dealer and collector to the auctioneering trade and is thrilled to share this fine collection of 19th and 20th century antiques and collectibles with you. A Cambridge family, formerly of New York City and Harvard Square residents since 1963, has scoured the attic, basement, and carriage house of their Victorian home to offer an exceptional assemblage of furniture, artwork, dolls, toys, trunks, vintage clothing, fireplace implements, pewter, glassware and porcelain all fresh to market. Furniture and lamps: A spectacular square oak split pedestal table with hairy paw feet and seven leaves!, a Victorian black and red lacquer table w/center pedestal, 2 iron and brass beds, a magnificent original 19th century Hitchock-type rocker marked Roxbury, MA. and trunks and chests galore!
Artwork: Circa 1850 Chinese lithophane table screen, Victorian needlework on silk, 3 Reverse paintings on glass, several large 19th and early 20th century etchings including King, du Roc Bhian, and others, signed watercolors by James Hind and Frederic Stuart Church, signed lithograph “Bird” by Bernard Buffet, 1912 USNA poster, 5 original Alice Gore King cityscapes, Southwest American Indian sand painting, Abstract painting “Symphonic Flight” by Margaret B. Brown, and many more prints and paintings. Over 50 pieces of artwork in all.
Toys and Dolls: Several vintage and antique dolls including Jumeau, Simon and Halbig, and other bisque and composition dolls, unusual wooden, jointed elephant, early stuffed windup giraffe, a collection of vintage pond boats and more!
Fireplace Implements: 3 19th century coal and wood stoves, 3 sets of 19th century andirons including Chippendale w/ ball and claw feet, a beautiful large Victorian fireplace fender, various fireplace screens, and a variety of fireplace tools.
Clothing & accessories: Beautiful beaver top-hat with original custom leather box, a collection of tortoise shell hair combs, several vintage handbags and purses including Whiting and Davis and glass beaded purses, WWI era US Navy uniforms, silver-topped Art Nouveau walking stick, several vintage tuxedos, and many more pieces of vintage clothing and linens.
